"My friends and I love golf, but we normally slum it and play a cheaper course, because simply put we’re not that good. We stepped up our game and decided to play the Hermitage course and we’re blown away by the greens here.
The course is beautifully maintained and easy to navigate thanks to the digital map in our golf carts. I believe hole 9 was the nuttiest hole with it having a literal 90' right turn at the end of the fairway. I really enjoyed the shorter holes and the challenging water features. The golf carts here are plush and come with bluetooth speakers, easy course mapping and distance guides, plus a digital score card.
The restaurant, Hickory Sticks Grill, overlooks hole 18 and offers a full bar and a loaded menu. Plenty of snacks, sandwiches, burgers, and breakfast served all day.
Normally when we play the "cheaper" courses it's about $30 each not including the cart. For an extra $25 to play here, Hermitage is definitely worth it! We will be back, but maybe when it's not 100' outside."Brett T.
"Extremely nice facility. Can’t wait to play there again."Dave M.
"We played the President's Reserve and the course was in amazing condition given the 100 degree heat could have easily taken a toll. Beautiful fairways and scenery, and the roaming sheep were cool to see!"Wayne S.
"Course is immaculate and most of all the staff is as friendly as it gets. What a wonderful experience."Alan D.
"I don’t think I have ever had as many staff-members that were as nice and polite as we encountered at your facility. It was true Southern Hospitality with Yes-Sirs and Thank-you’s from all. Hermitage Golf Course is the Chick-fil-A of golf courses and that is intended as a huge compliment."Great Golf Trip Destination
"The Hermitage Golf Course is perfect for a golf trip with buddies. The property, 20'ish minutes from Downtown Nashville, has two fantastic courses that will suit every handicap. President's Reserve felt like playing a round winding through a wetland nature preserve...and don't forget the signature sheep roaming the course. They are friendly and make for some unique selfies but, beware, they are also fearless. I had one walking straight toward me, down my target line, on #10 tee box. He wasn't blinking and I wasn't interested in cold-topping a 3 wood off his horns...so I waited. General's Retreat is a parkland style course with hittable fairways with some good risk/reward shots and manageable greens/pin placements. Both courses were in great shape, especially considering it was late July and had been blazing hot for about 2 weeks already. Practice facilities are well maintained offer a range long enough for most to hit their full bag, a short game area and putting green. We stayed at one of the 10 on-property bungalos that were clearly built with "buddies golf trips" in mind. Room to relax between/after rounds, a comfortable bed for everyone without having to share or sleep on a couch, and a private firepit patio and putting/chipping green. Immaculately clean, and stocked similarly to any hotel you could stay in. Staying on-property also gets you a discounted green fee. I recommend booking through the course's website rather than AirBnB to avoid extra fees. We will plan ahead better for our next trip here so we won't have to leave the property to play any of our rounds. This place is amazing and should be on any list of top golf trip destinations in Nashville. We will definitely be back!" -

"We lucked out weather-wise for our wedding! That space was everything we needed it to be for early October. Guests were comfortable, the birds were singing and we were even asked later if there was a "butterfly release". 67 degrees and sunny and we couldn't have asked for better.
Ivy was a dream to work with. She communicated effectively and as often as I needed. She didn't force anything we didn't actually want and there were no hidden costs after the fact. She completed requests like a breeze and greeted me after walking down the aisle with my/my husband's drinks of choice. She was our cool head all morning navigating little mishaps and keeping to the schedule.
Even for the golf event going on alongside us, it did not take away from our moments or distract our guests. I would recommend this event space to anyone who wants a scenic, accessible and budget-friendly wedding."Tara
"I wish there was six stars because they were excellent. The venue did an amazing job with everything from the food to the set up. The staff is super easy to communicate with and compared to a lot of other venues I heard about they get back to you same day and as the bride that was everything to me. Ivey our wedding event planner was amazing, very professional, personable and very knowledgeable. Our guests ranted and raved about the food. The quality of the space was well worth the money - I suggest getting all three - the garden, pavilion and the gallery- the view is beautiful especially at sunset. I highly suggest getting married in the garden it’s gorgeous and very intimate. Most importantly they always led with keeping us calm as a bride that’s a must. They made sure sure everything was to spec and to our specific details. We had an amazing wedding and it was a beautiful day to share with family and friends. Great venue to make memories at."

"My fiancé and I booked the Hermitage Golf Course in February 2022, our date was set for September 2022. Monica was incredible to work with but unfortunately she decided to retire a month before our wedding, we were nervous since she knew us and what we wanted. Ivy joined and with only weeks to spare, she pulled off our wedding with flying colors. I can’t say enough great things about her and the venue. She kept us on time, made sure we had a plate of food to eat, helped us capture pics of feeding the sheep and I had to let my fiancé decorate and she chipped in to help. She’s an incredible event planner and the hermitage golf course is lucky to have her! Thanks Ivy for making our wedding so special! I highly recommended the Hermitage Golf Course, such a beautiful venue, amazing food and leaves the stress out of all the details!"

"We booked Hermitage Golf Course for our October wedding in 2022. We originally booked with a different manager who retired, and naturally we were worried about the new person in charge. However, that didn't stop Ivy from stepping into the role (I swear it was made for her) and going above and beyond for our big day! From the beginning she was super responsive to all my emails, excellent at keeping us updated on vendors/creating floor plans, and most importantly was so in tune with our vision. We couldn't have had a better place to have our reception and our guests cannot stop raving about the food, cocktails, and atmosphere! Definitely book here, it was a dream experience from start to finish!"

"Loved the cottage! The cottage was very comfortable, well decorated and located overlooking a peaceful golf course. Beautiful! We were looking for a rental close to Old Hickory Lake for a weekend of skiing, and this ended up to be only a few minutes away from the lake and a marina. Monica was very accommodating with allowing us to park our boat. Although we are not golfers, the setting was lovely and we would be delighted to rent here again. Highly recommend."

"Our group of 8 had a wonderful time playing a different course each day and staying in the cottages. The cottages are so comfortable and well maintained. The outdoor patio area and putting green were a huge part of the appeal of the cottages. We only live 20 minutes away from Hermitage but the experience was that of a golf getaway trip to a top tier resort without spending two days traveling. It’s now a bi-annual trip for our group!"
