Zach & Amber Gross

Amber Barnett marries Zach Gross!

On Saturday, March 13, 2010, Amber Barnett became Mrs.Zach Gross.  I'm not sure where to start... the day was so full and fun!  Amber and her bridal party began arriving at 9:30 Saturday morning to get ready and begin pictures.  While they were having fun with make up artist, Ann Dorman, Emily Heim and I were putting the finishing touches on the Two Rivers Ford Banquet Room and the Tilted Palm Pavilion.  Linens in chocolate brown were on all of the tables with tiffany blue chair ties on all of the chairs.  It was beautiful!

The fellows arrived, ready to begin pictures!  We headed out to The President's Reserve where they had a blast.  I loved the fact that the photographer got the "formal" photos out of the way and then said "ok boys, as long as it's legal, anything goes!"  I think I had more fun watching than they had having fun!  When the girls were ready, we also headed to The President's Reserve for the ladies photos.  You may not recall, but the temperature was a balmy 45 degrees that day and Amber and her bridesmaids dresses were strapless.  They were troopers braving the elements that day!  These girls were a stitch!  I laughed so hard, my sides are still sore!

As everyone relaxed, Amber and her father had a private moment where he saw her for the first time in her wedding attire.  It was such a precious moment that they shared.  The only one in the room besides the two of them was the photographer.... and she told me how hard it is to focus when you have tears in your eyes.

Amber surprised Zach by having live music for her entrance.  Hailey Wylemans sang "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" as Jamison Torphy accompanied her on the guitar.  It was beautiful.  As soon as the "I Do's" and "the kiss" were completed, the DJ kicked in a quick "Hallelujah!" recording and the party began!

Kelly Farmer with Party Patrol got the festivities started as Mr. and Mrs. Gross and their photographers took some quick photos of the two of them on the golf course.  When they arrived back their bridal party was introduced followed by Amber and Zach.  It was such a special evening and I am so blessed to have met each and every person involved in this amazing couple's day.

As I headed home I called Bill to let him know I was on the way.  "How did it go?" he asked.  "AMAZING!"  I said.  As I began to ramble on about how Zach's groom's cake was covered with little animals (a hunting theme) and how much fun everyone had, I heard him chuckle.  He's so great to listen... even though the only thing he heard was "hunting"!

I know that this day was special and joyous to Zach and Amber, but I was so overwhelmed by their happiness and the love their family and friends have for them.   Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Gross!  We wish you a lifetime of happiness!

As we begin 2010!

I cannot believe that 2010 is here and it starts off with the bridal show on January 17th!  We have so many weddings already scheduled this year and I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with so many wonderful brides (and grooms)!

Our venue is evolving with cake packages, floral packages and draping packages!  Dates are still available in April, so please contact us if you are planning an early spring wedding!

Bill has been great at helping me get ready for the bridal show... the slide show that we will have at the show is his creation!  What an amazing husband and man!  I think he might be as excited about wedding season as I am.  After all, fishing season is about to begin!  Happy planning!

Winter Weddings at Hermitage

Winter Weddings... I know most of you would never think of having a winter wedding at a golf course! It is unbelievable! I have had so much fun with our brides this winter being creative on how we can make our spaces their own! This is a perfect example of how beautiful our Tilted Palm Palvilon can be with draping, Christmas lights and candles! If you are looking for the perfect place for your winter ceremony or reception, don't over look Hermitage Golf Course! It is amazing!

As we head into winter...

I have not learned the rules of blogging; I've been told I need to write each week.  I will try to do better.  Jim, Bobby and I have been talking about over-seeding fairways on the General's Retreat for 2010.  We would like to know what is more important for our customers:

1.  Having green fairways year around, which means staying on the cartpath from early September to April (maens very wet fairways until the seed germinates) or;

2.  Not over-seeding and being able to drive the fairways to the first early frost.

We have been overseeding fairways since the first year we open and became a necessity because of the Sara Lee Classic.

Let me know what you think!!

Nelson & Anessia Griffin

Mr. & Mrs. Nelson Griffin
September 19, 2009

They say that when it rains on your wedding day it is good luck.  If that is the case, Nelson and Anessia will be blessed for MANY years to come.  The rain decided it had set in and it wasn't leaving.

Not to worry - the ceremony was still beautiful in the Celebration Garden and the reception was rockin' in the Tilted Palm Pavilion.  I was so blessed to get to know this couple and their families in planning their wonderful day.  Anessia was absolutely breathtaking and Nelson was so handsome!

The ceremony was complete with a sand ceremony and "jumping of the broom".  Nelson and Anessia quickly had a private meal and then we headed out for pictures.  After dodging raindrops on the President's Reserve Golf Course, we found a dry spot at the barn.

We headed back to the reception where Nelson and Anessia were greeted by happy guests ready to celebrate with this wonderful couple!  After the formalities of the garter toss and bouquet toss, Anessia changed into her "party" dress and the dancing began!

What an amazing couple, with wonderful friends and family celebrating with them!  Their send off was through a tunnel of bubbles and off to Jamacia they  headed!  Bill and I fully expect to see you at the Titans games!!!
