Mr. & Mrs. Wendall Wood, September 5, 2009Megan Ratka and Wendall Wood were married at Hermitage Golf Course on Saturday afternoon September 5, 2009. What a beautiful day and a fabulous couple! I began working with Megan and Wendall in May in planning for their wedding day. I was so excited when they asked me to coordinate their wedding! I have gotten to know them and their families so well, that it was like being at my own family's wedding! Wendall's mother, Donna and I are already planning their return trip to Nashville!Their wedding weekend began on Friday evening with rehearsal practice in the Celebration Garden. Family and friends arrived from Alabama and Ohio. We had so much fun during rehearsal - everyone catching up - then dinner started without anyone missing a beat!Saturday morning began with the boys playing golf - and the groom's mother, Donna, getting some great shots of them on the General's Retreat. After her departure, our work started on set up for the wedding, cocktail hour and reception. Megan chose black and white table linens with beautiful venice black and white runners, red linen napkins and red chair ties. The china was white square plates with beautiful flatware and stemware. Her flowers were unbelievable by The Enchanted Florist! The room was breathtaking! The Celebration Garden was decorated with our white chairs and beautiful white columns that Megan and Wendall chose. At the end of their ceremony, they met with their family and bridal party for pictures and then we headed to the President's Reserve for some beautiful photos while their guests enjoyed a cocktail hour. The photo above was taken on the bridge that approaches the 9th green. Adwina Christine did an outstanding job at capturing a very special moment!Instead of a "send off", the couple was welcomed to their reception through a tunnel of guests blowing bubbles as they arrived on a golfcart. A wonderful dinner was served n the Two Rivers Ford Banquet Room. As dinner came to an end, guests were invited into the Tilted Palm Pavilon to enjoy the cutting of their cake, which was a beautiful white 3 tiered buttercream (yummy!) cake by Cakes by Rebecca, followed by a very sweet toast from the groom's brother, TJ. The bride and groom then had their traditional first dance followed by the father/daughter and mother/son dance. It never matters how many times I watch, I still cry! The DJ, Rick Ryan was PERFECT for this group! As the night went on, he took candid photos of guests at the reception which he projected onto a screen for all guests to see! FANTASTIC! He also had a "text to" phone number for requests which remained on the screen the entire time - so shy guests could dedicate and request songs throughout the night. He had someone dancing at all times during the night! Even the Ohio State fans were on the floor... I never knew the tie to "Hang on Sloopy" by the McCoys - learned something new! Where was Bill? .....Bill had gotten up early Saturday morning. Dove season is in and he was in the field before dawn. So... no surprise that he was out like a light when I got home! Of course I filled him in on Sunday morning of the entire day! He just smiles at me and tells me how happy HE is that I'm having so much fun! Oh, and he can't wait to meet Donna!-KaraVendors at this event:Photography:Adwina Christinewww.adwinachristinephotography.com615-439-1531DJRick Ryan rick@rickryan.com615-390-2784CakeCakes by Rebeccawww.cakesbyrebecca.com615-424-9108FlowersEnchanted Floristwww.enchantedfloristtn.com615-859-9002

This was a wedding that both families will be talking about the rest of there lives. I know there is NOT one thing that I would have changed. It stated off with a great rehersal and then the rehersal dinner. Which was fixed there at Hermitage Golf Course. Which was great. On the day of the wedding I got to go an take a few candid shots of my sons and groomsmen playing golf. Which they enjoyed very much. Then I got to go back and visit with family while Mrs. Kara was taking care of everything. Then I came back later to get ready for the wedding. The tables where beaiful they looked like something that you would see in a bride magnizine. The flower where fresh and bright that added the color that set everything off just right. They had a sit down meal for the recepition. And it was out of this world. It was so good you would want to go back there just for the food. I could not have gotten a better meal at the most expensive restaurant in town. And I know everyone that ate there would totally agree. Then of course you have the cakes. Oh man the where the best cakes you know the kind that melt in your mouth and so moist. And looked gorgeous. And the DJ stead busy the whole time with doing the music for the wedding cercomy and the receiption. He planed music that keep people on the dance floor all the time.We had people from Ohio and Alabama. I know it would not have been this awsome if it was not for Kara with Hermitage. I know every parent wants there children to have the wedding they have dreamed of an when you live out of the town or like me out of state. It is hard to help make that happen. Kara is the best we keep in touch by phone and email. And she was awsome to work with. Most of the time now when people get married they are working and sometimes also going to school. And when you though planning a wedding in there it becomes so stressful on the bride and groom that they don't get to enjoy the exprience of getting married they are just about ready to call it off by the time it gets there. With Kara the stress was taken off and they got to enjoy the wedding and knew that all was taken care of and no worries. And the photographer took some great and different pictures. I know I am glad I am not the one that as to pick which one I want. Or try to narrow them down. We have 3 more boys to get married and I know I want do it any other way then the way we done this one. thank you kara and everyone that helped me loved everything, Donna

Regarding that "perfect DJ", I have to take issue. The fault lies purely with the wedding coordinator, Kara. You were absolutely a saint to work with and perhaps the best I've seen in town at keeping the vibe light and the event flowing. Kudos to all the staff at Hermitage. You guys make my job easy. I'll work with you guys anytime, anywhere.
Until next time.
Until next time.

The Wood wedding at the Hermitage was the best wedding I have ever attended. The grounds were gorgeous, the facilities were beautiful, the staff was friendly, and the food was outstanding. Rick the DJ did an excellent job of keeping the crowd on the dance floor. It was fun to see the pictures he projected on the screen; nice touch. Although I did not work with Kara, I could tell by watching her that she loves what she does and does it well. She was a delight to see and if there was any stress at the ceremony or reception, she kept it under the radar as an excellent planner would. She seemed to enjoy the festivities as much as we did as guests. Kudos to all.
